Plan Your Visit – Angel Island
Plan Your Visit to the Angel Island Immigration Station
Please visit Angel Island Parks and Recreation’s Plan Your Visit page for more information on accessing the event.
Running time is approximately 1 hour, with no intermission.
Please note that tickets purchased on the Zeffy site are only tickets to attend the event. You must also purchase a ferry ticket to Angel Island separately either from the San Francisco Ferry Building or from Tiburon. Advanced ferry bookings are recommended but not required – be sure to purchase round trip tickets.
Ferry to the island
The following ferries are the only ones that will make it to the island in time to attend the events (please note this is the Saturday/Sunday/Holiday schedule).
SF Ferry Building: 10:15am
Tiburon: 10:00am or 11:00am
After the event, the ferry times are as follows:
SF Ferry Building: 3:20pm or 4:50pm
Tiburon: 3:20pm
You can find ferry information and a guide to help you find the Immigration Station once on the island on the Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation website. Note that tickets from the SF Ferry Building must be purchased in person (or, if you have a Clipper Card, you get a significant rate reduction!). Tickets from Tiburon can be purchased online.
Ground transportation
Once on the island, you can hike, bike, or shuttle (limited capacity) to the Immigration Station!
Shuttle
The shuttle will pick up at the cafe directly across from the Angel Island Ferry Terminal landing at 10:30am or 11:30am and is a 10-12-minute ride to the Immigration Station. After the performance, the shuttle will pick up at the bell at 3:00pm to return to the ferry before the 3:20 depart time. You can purchase one-way or round-trip shuttle tickets in advance at the button below (be sure to choose the same date as your performance tickets):
Hiking/Biking directions to the Immigration Station from the Angel Island ferry terminal:
If you plan to hike to the Immigration Station, it’s about a 35-minute walk from the ferry terminal. Directions on the Plan Your Visit website above, or also outlined below:
1. To the left of the Welcome sign, you’ll find a shortcut to the Perimeter Road. Rising 140 steps, this route can be intense for amateur hikers. At the top, make a left and follow the road to the Station.
2. You can also follow the paved road; you’ll pass the Welcome Center and make a left at the top of the hill.
