OBC In-School Assemblies

Each season, Oakland Ballet dancers visit Oakland and East Bay schools to present special, educational dance assemblies. These on-site, educational assemblies are 45 minutes in length and include:

  • A 20 minute, narrated performance;
  • A lesson on how dancers train as athletes and artists, stay physically fit, and follow proper nutrition;
  • Dance history lesson;
  • A choreography workshop;
  • Q&A session providing students the opportunity to interact with the artists; and
  • Educational study guides and lesson plans that align with CA performing and visual arts standards.

These programs are provided free of cost to Title I schools in Oakland.
