Voices of Angel Island: Music, Memory and Movement with Huang Ruo
Join renowned Monkey King composer Huang Ruo in an intimate conversation with noted Angel Island choreographer, Phil Chan, and members of the Del Sol Quartet moderated by Sidney Chen as they discuss the collaborative journey that brought Oakland Ballet’s critically acclaimed, sold-out 2025 premiere of Angel Island to life.

Featuring 2 world premieres by Wei Wang and Phil Chan, Double Happiness is a fun-filled program designed to bring a smile to your face. A company premiere of Elaine Kudo’s fast-paced Opposites Distract, plus a revival of Phil Chan’s elegant duet, Amber Waves, rounds out this joyful program.
