Graham Lustig’s The Nutcracker
A Special Winter Mix
This December marks the 41st anniversary of a ballet and holiday tradition in Oakland. Join the Oakland Ballet Company in celebrating the magic and honoring the spirit of the season with this year’s production of Graham Lustig’s The Nutcracker.
Introduced to Bay Area audiences in 2010 with the arrival of Mr. Lustig as Artistic Director, this heartfelt version of a worldwide classic has found a happy home here with Oakland Ballet Company, as our dancers bring to life the story of one girl’s enchanted winter evening.
From the bravery of an unlikely hero found in a Nutcracker Prince to the charms cast by exotic, faraway places, Graham Lustig’s The Nutcracker makes it easy to dream big. Experience an endearing masterpiece with us and share in a rich and vibrant local tradition that has delighted audiences old and young for generations.
Matinee performances presented at Oakland’s historic Paramount Theatre with the Oakland East Bay Symphony, conducted by Michael Morgan.
